Jeff Iverson
Co-Founder/Executive Director
About
Since conquering his own battles with addiction, which began in high school and led to job setbacks and a three-week jail stint, Jeff Iverson has dedicated his life to supporting those on the path to sobriety, while also establishing a successful career in the reusable energy industry. His pivotal moment arrived during that jail time, when an introduction to the Las Vegas drug court program shifted his trajectory towards recovery.
In 2009, driven by his own experiences and the inadequacies he observed in existing recovery facilities, Jeff Co-Founded the Freedom House with Silvia Buckley. By repurposing an old apartment building, he built a sanctuary that has since guided hundreds towards a purposeful, sober life. His vision expanded in 2016 with the establishment of Freedom Behavioral Health, a non-profit inpatient treatment hub in Southern Nevada. Here, individuals are not only provided support for sobriety, but also vocational training to ensure a holistic recovery.
By the dawn of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeff’s programs stood steady and resilient, continuing to admit court-referred patients. Impressively, 75% of program graduates have gone on to secure stable employment, while 55% have found stable housing.
Recognizing the escalating need for these services, 2018 saw Jeff establishing Crossroads of Southern Nevada. Remarkably, within just half a decade, this facility grew into Nevada’s preeminent drug and alcohol treatment center. Jeff currently serves as the CEO of CrossRoads of Southern Nevada, a which hosts 75 medical detox beds, 80 RTC beds and a housing program for 160 people. Concurrently a key member of Jeff’s team, Paul Vautrinot, took the helm of the Shine A Light initiative. This endeavor focuses on assisting the population inhabiting Las Vegas’s underground flood channels. With Jeff’s input, this initiative seamlessly integrated with Freedom House and Crossroads. Consequently, by 2021, the Shine A Light Foundation emerged as an independent non-profit organization. Here, Jeff dons three hats as co-founder, director, and treasurer.
Jeff’s transformative impact on Nevada doesn’t end with addiction recovery. On the business side he also brings his leadership skills to the renewable energy sector as a Regional Manager with Freedom-Pros, one of the nations largest residential solar installation companies doing business in 35 states. Jeff takes pride in creating jobs for people who have come from these recovery programs. Through his myriad efforts, Jeff Iverson remains an unwavering pillar of hope and change for countless Nevadans.
