About
Silvia Buckley, a dedicated resident of Las Vegas for over 50 years, has carved an extraordinary path in both business and community service. She graduated from a local high school, furthered her education at The Los Angeles School of Business in California. Silvia initially built her career in the restaurant industry before transitioning to the mortgage business, where she spent 20 years working as a construction manager, assistant to the CEO, and property manager.
While Silvia thrived in the business world, her true passion lies in helping those less fortunate. This passion led to the creation of Freedom House Sober Living 12 years ago. Committed to providing a clean and supportive environment for individuals in substance abuse recovery, Silvia left the mortgage industry to fully dedicate her time to this cause.
As the current President and CEO of Freedom House Sober Living, Silvia has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach. Under her leadership, the second phase of the program, Freedom Behavioral Health, was launched to cater to men requiring a higher level of care while learning to live clean and sober. Additionally, the third phase of the program, Freedom for Women, opened its doors in July 2019 to support women in their recovery journey.
Silvia’s remarkable contributions to the field of addiction recovery have earned her several accolades, including the Robert Rehmar Addiction Professional Award and recognition from the Foundation for Recovery and Shine A Light. Moreover, she was recently elected Vice President of the We Care Foundation, further cementing her role as a leader in the recovery community.
In her leisure time, Silvia cherishes moments spent with her six grandchildren, who top her “list of fun things to do” Silvia Buckley’s unwavering dedication to helping others and her profound impact on the community embody the spirit and mission of Freedom House Sober Living.
