Danamarie “Dana” Julian has been a Substance Abuse Counselor at Freedom House Behavioral Health since September 2022, bringing over 15 years of prior experience as a case manager working with diverse populations. Alongside her current role, she continues to work with juveniles on probation, combining her background in criminal justice with her passion for helping individuals navigate positive life changes.
Dana earned both her associate and bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice from Remington College in San Diego, California, from 2004 to 2007. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Addictions at Grand Canyon University. Raised in various cities across both coasts due to her family’s military affiliation, Dana brings a unique and adaptable perspective to her clinical practice.
Driven by a deep commitment to supporting individuals facing personal and social challenges, Dana approaches treatment with a nurturing, compassionate style. As a recovery-informed clinician with lived experience, she fosters strong connections with her clients by offering a relatable, yet professional, approach. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based practices, including compassion care, trauma-informed therapies, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help clients achieve lasting, meaningful recovery.
