What to Expect During Addiction Treatment Intake

Visiting a treatment center to recover from a substance use disorder can be both an exciting and daunting experience. Our goal is to help you feel at ease and as comfortable as possible the moment you get here so you can embark on a healthy, successful recovery.

Arrival at Freedom House

Located at 3852 Palos Verdes St, Las Vegas, NV 89119, Freedom House welcomes you into a supportive environment aimed at fostering recovery and personal growth.

Your First 72 Hours

Upon arrival, our dedicated administrative team will greet you and facilitate an initial orientation into our community. You will undergo a comprehensive evaluation by our clinical and case management teams to tailor a care plan that addresses your specific needs and recovery goals. This may include a drug screening to assess any immediate medical or detoxification needs.

You will be escorted to your accommodations and given a tour of our facilities. During the first 24 hours, you will participate in routine safety checks and will be introduced to the facility’s structure and daily schedule. This period is crucial for acclimatization without external distractions.

Communication During Residential Treatment:

  • Initial Blackout: All new residents undergo a 24-hour blackout period upon admission, during which there is no external communication. This helps you settle into the program
    without outside interruptions.
  • Extended Blackout: After the initial day, a 30-day communication blackout is implemented to maximize focus on recovery. This period is essential for engaging fully
with the therapeutic process and community.
  • Gradual Communication: Post the initial blackout phase, you may qualify for up to two phone calls per week, depending on your compliance with the treatment plan and overall progress.

From your first day, depending on your assessment, you may begin participating in therapeutic sessions tailored to your recovery needs. This approach ensures that your treatment at Freedom House is both comprehensive and conducive to long-term success.

Supporting Recovery at Freedom House

As a family member or loved one of someone in treatment at Freedom House, your involvement is vital. We encourage you to provide ongoing support while understanding the necessary space and time your loved one needs to engage deeply in the recovery process. Treatment can be intense and sometimes overwhelming, especially in the early stages as individuals adjust to the structure and demands of a substance-free lifestyle.

Your role is crucial in offering encouragement and maintaining a supportive distance that allows your loved one to navigate their recovery journey independently. This approach not only respects their need for personal growth but also strengthens their resolve to succeed. By fostering a supportive environment, you help ensure that your loved one can fully benefit from the transformative care provided at Freedom House.
